          Planning the design of an addition or making extensive changes to the structural system of an existing home can be very challenging.  Additions and makeovers require the knowledge of set-back requirements, zoning restrictions and the location of underground utilities.  Once a building ‘envelope” has been established, the design challenge begins.  First, the objectives are to be defined and then to create a method of connecting the addition or alteration to the existing residence in an architecturally correct and pleasing manner

 
Unlike the design of a new home the rules of the structure has already been established and a thorough knowledge of building construction is necessary.  We document the residence or areas to be affected and determine to the best of our ability how the original building was constructed.
 Only then, can we determine design options that are both practical and possible.
     Each remodel, renovation, addition or makeover is unique and as such the cost of the design services varies greatly
